Ode is a sheet music editor that strives to meet the needs of post-modern music composition and edition. There are already many programs, for many different platforms, that allow to write music: some with text input, others with MIDI keyboard support, others still with graphical user interfaces. The visual quality of the produced sheet music varies from program to program.

Ode focuses on the needs of today's composers. The notations required are many, and serve primarily the musical intent: a good score is therefore one that allows the performer to easily read, so that he or she can concentrate on the musical emotion to convey.

We believe that Ode should resemble a drawing program with some functions added to help the composer type in his or her music faster. One of the key features we envision is the ability to create new glyphs and share them with other composers.
