IRC4R is an IRC module for the Ruby programming language, crafted with simplicity in mind. It will parse and generate protocol messages, and handle simple connections and events.

The module can be used for easy creation of simple bots, it can be used as the backend in a sophisticated bot framework, or for managing connections in an irc client application. Eventually, support for server functionality might be added as well.
