Gridnix is a suite of applications that install over any GNU Linux operating system to simplify delivering infrastructure as a service. Gridnix extends quotas, automation, system configuration and security policies to provide a technology agnostic framework for virtualization and distributed computing.

Gridnix aims to make virtualization ... just another part of Linux ... by allowing administrators to allocate all resources (ip addresses, memory, disk space, processor cores,pci devices, etc) to users as needed. This enables users to easily provision and boot virtual networks that span the size of the underlying physical farm.

Gridnix aims to provide all interconnects, tools and applications needed to easily and quickly construct complex yet reliable utility grids, on which front end user controls can easily be created.

Gridnix is currently in pre alpha (planning) stages, we hope to produce the first release by the end of 2008.
