About ShareSource

ShareSource is a service offered for free to Open Source developers that provides easy access to SVN, bug tracking, message boards/forums, task management, site hosting, permanent file archival, full backups and daily repository snapshots.
ShareSource was created to give a simple, easy to use site so application developers can get back to writing code, not administrating websites.
ShareSource has all the tools you need to help your team from any location collaborate, like bug trackers, forums and private messages. Tools to create and control access to Subversion, a popular and well regarded version control system.

Projects hosted by ShareSource receive:

• Project File Release Management
  Released versions of your project are stored on our web server.
  
  
• SVN [Subversion] Repository
  Each project hosted by ShareSource receives an SVN repository. Anonymous SVN access is granted to the general public. The general public is able to view the Subversion repositories through websvn or the subversion client.

• Mercurial Repository
  A version control system similar to Subversion. Great for larger teams or teams that need to be more formal.

• Bug tracker
  Our custom made bug tracker is easy to use, both for developers and for users. The bugtracker is simplified, only asking a person reporting a bug a few questions, however, it still integrates with other ShareSource features such as Subversion.
